Privacy policy

What we collect (very little), why, and your rights. Draft – to be finalised before launch.

DRAFT template – not legal advice. This page is a starting point only. It must be reviewed by a qualified Australian lawyer and completed before launch. Everything in [brackets] still needs filling in.

1. Who we are

Punting Gods is operated by [business name] ([ABN]). We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). [Lawyer to confirm whether the Privacy Act applies to the business and adjust this wording]

2. What we collect

  • Email alerts: if you sign up, your email address and your confirmation that you're 18+ and agree to receive emails. Email alerts aren't live yet – at the moment the signup form doesn't send or store anything.
  • Technical data: our hosting provider ([hosting provider]) may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses and pages requested, for security and reliability.
  • Cookies and analytics: the site doesn't currently use advertising cookies or analytics. [Update this if analytics are added]

We don't ask for your name, payment details or betting accounts, and we don't need them.

3. How we use it

We use your email address only to send the alerts you signed up for, and related service messages. We don't sell or rent it, and we don't share it with bookmakers.

4. Who we share it with

Our email provider ([email provider]) stores subscriber details on our behalf, possibly outside Australia ([countries]). We only share information when needed to run the service or when required by law.

5. Unsubscribing

Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, in line with the Spam Act 2003. You can also email us to be removed.

6. Keeping it safe and how long we keep it

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information, and we delete subscriber details when you unsubscribe or when they're no longer needed. [Retention period]

7. Access, correction and complaints

You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you by contacting [contact email]. If you're unhappy with how we've handled a privacy matter, contact us first; if it isn't resolved, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

8. Changes

We'll update this policy if our practices change, for example when email alerts go live or if we add analytics.

Draft prepared 29 September 2026. Effective date: [effective date].
